What is a Children’s Advocacy Center?

Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) are safe, supportive places where children and families can get the help they need. Instead of navigating multiple systems alone, CACs bring together professionals—from law enforcement and child welfare professionals, to medical and mental health providers—to make sure children are heard, protected, and supported every step of the way. The Warren County CAC is an Affiliate Member of the National Children's Alliance and Children's Advocacy Centers of Pennsylvania.

The Warren County Children's Advocacy Center is a standalone 501(c)(3) non-profit agency committed to providing a safe and supportive environment that is dedicated to serving child victims of abuse and their families. Professionals from multiple disciplines within the community coordinate investigations, interventions, prosecutions, and provide specialized treatment while reducing trauma and promoting healing.

Children and their non-offending family members are welcomed to the Warren County CAC, which is a child-focused and -centered space. The Warren County CAC is an open and affirming safe space, where all children and non-offending family members are welcome. While at the WCCAC, our families and their stories are treated with respect and dignity.

Our Mission

Our Story

Years of hard work, planning, and community dedication were realized in July of 2019 when the Warren County Children's Advocacy Center (WCCAC) first opened its doors.

The opening of the WCCAC was made possible by the early board members who had a vision to create a better childhood for ALL of Warren County's children. Their vision, and generous support from the community, allowed for the creation of a space dedicated to the CAC's guiding principles.

Together, with our community partners, the Warren County CAC believes:

  • Children come first. They are the experts on their lives and their experiences. They matter.

  • Protecting children in our community "takes a village." We rely on our community partners, and each other,  to provide trauma-informed collaboration and care to all our children and their non-offending caregivers.

  • While the Warren County CAC helps to coordinate child abuse investigations, we strive to remain a neutral party, focused on the well-being of the child.

  • Prevention starts with awareness and education. It will take all of us to turn the tide in our community.

“CACs listen to children, help them process what's happened to them, and build a foundation for life after abuse so they can go back to being kids.”

— The National Children’s Alliance

Together, we can make a difference in the lives of children.
